Welcome To Bellydazzle

Following two successful editions, Bellydazzle returns for its third year on March 7–8, 2026, in Thessaloniki, Greece!

Now established as a beloved annual event, Bellydazzle continues to grow as a vibrant hub for the bellydance community, uniting dancers, teachers, and enthusiasts from around the world. With each edition, it strengthens its role in celebrating and promoting the art of Oriental dance through unforgettable performances, high-level workshops, and meaningful connections. This year introduces Live Tabla on stage(!!) during both Shows and Workshops, adding an exciting new dimension to the experience. We also proudly continue to host world-renowned, certified choreographers—many of them appearing in Greece for the very first time!!

Our Master Teachers

Ekaterina Oleynikova (Ukraine)

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN GREECE!!
🔸️Ekaterina Oleinikova is a professional belly dancer, internationally acclaimed teacher, choreographer, and judge from Ukraine. With 19 years of experience in Oriental dance and 15 years dedicated to teaching, she has become a recognized figure on the global stage.
🔸️Ekaterina is a two-time World Champion of the International Dance Organization (IDO) in 2012 and 2013, a three-time winner of the Dance World Cup, and a five-time consecutive Ukrainian Belly Dance Champion.
🔸️Ekaterina is a talented and experienced teacher. Many of her students have become champions and prizewinners at international events. She inspires dancers to reach their full potential through her passion and knowledge.

Badriyah (Belgium)

🔸️Badriyah is well known for her Golden Era Raqs Sharqi dances, recreations, and unique teaching.She has been a dance teacher for more than 17 years while constantly studying the dance form and performing in several dance troupes. Badriyah also performed for 10 years alongside Jillina in Bellydance Evolution, both as a lead dancer and troupe dancer, performing in more than 60 shows in Japan, Taiwan, Morocco, Australia, the United States and other countries. Badriyah is the organizer of the Kan Zaman festival and the Leylet Raqs festival.
🔸️Badriyah is a collector of vintage items depicting Golden Era legends. Her collection includes more than 400 items, such as postcards, vinyl records, posters, magazines, and very rare items.To share all this content with the dance community, Badriyah created an online museum on her website ( www.badriyahbellydance.com) and now she is renovating a space to build an actual Raqs Sharqi Museum in Belgium.
🔸️In her daily job, Lenka is a space weather application scientist and science communicator and she leads an educational project for blind and visually impaired children.

Chronis Taxidis (Greece)

🔸️Chronis Taxidis is a world-renowned musician and specialist in Arabic percussion. His passion for oriental rhythms began at an early age, influenced by his heritage rooted in the Black Sea region. This cultural background gave him a natural familiarity with Middle Eastern musical traditions from a young age. He pursued his formal education at the prestigious Arab Music Institute in Cairo, graduating in 2005 after years of in-depth study in Arabic culture, music history, ethnomusicology, and performance. Chronis holds official diplomas in the following areas: • Middle Eastern and North African Rhythms • Composition and Orchestration for Arabic Music Ensembles • Percussion Instruction for Middle Eastern and North African Traditions He is proficient in a wide range of percussion instruments, including the doff, doholla, riq, and sagat, among others.
🔸️Following his academic studies, Chronis deepened his expertise through a two-year mentorship with the legendary Egyptian musician and teacher Khamis Henkesh, a pivotal figure in the world of music for dance. This experience established Chronis as not only a distinguished musician but also an accomplished instructor for belly dancers.


Althea (Greece)

🔸️Althea is an internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning bellydancer, widely recognized for her sentimental stage presence and artistic innovation. As a dedicated leader and instructor, she passionately directs both group and solo performers, guiding them to excellence. Over the course of her 18 year-career, she has earned an impressive 24 first-place titles in a range of prestigious national and international dance competitions. Her choreographic inspiration is deeply rooted in her appreciation of Art in all its forms.
🔸️Academically accomplished, Althea holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In parallel with her academic achievements, she has pursued rigorous training in the field of music, with specializations in Classical Harmony, Lyrical Singing, and Classical Guitar.
🔸️In addition to her professional training in Oriental Dance, Althea also holds a Professional Degree in Latin and Ballroom Dances, and has undertaken extensive studies in Ballet,Jazz, Contemporary, Tango Argentino and Swing, reflecting her deep commitment to diverse dance disciplines.
🔸️Althea is widely known for her theatrical and conceptual choreographic work, often showcased through live stage performances or in professionally produced Video Clips. Her choreo topics are frequently centered around humanitarian themes, allowing her to express both her artistic sensibility and her social consciousness.
🔸️During the COVID-19 pandemic, Althea was exclusively contracted to perform at the prestigious 'Qasr Al Sarab' Desert Resort by Anantara in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where she entertained an elite international clientele, including VIP guests and global celebrities.

Viktória Vinis (Hungary)

'MASTER BELLYDAZZLER 2025' WINNER!
🔸️Viktória Vinis is a distinguished dancer and cultural organizer from Hungary, known for her dynamic presence in the international bellydance community. She is the founder and organizer of two major events in her home country: the 'Balaton Bellydance' Festival and the 'Raqs Hungary' Festival.
🔸️Viktória is renowned for her energetic, passionate, and joyful approach to dance. She has a particular love for fiery, vibrant choreographies—whether classical or folkloric—and her performances radiate enthusiasm and charisma.For her, the greatest reward is seeing the audience smile back at her or join in the dance, creating a unique and heartfelt connection through movement.
🔸️In 2025, Viktória achieved a major milestone by winning the BellyDazzle competition as the absolute winner—an honor she cherishes deeply and now,as a BellyDazzle Teacher, she looks forward to once again sharing her passion and energy with the international bellydance community, inspiring others and being inspired in turn.

Rules of Participation

  • Each category must have at least 3 participants, otherwise the category will be merged with another category.
  • Golden Era Queen ✨️ New Category
    Inspired by 1940s–'60s Egyptian cinema, this category showcases the elegance of Golden Era Legends and vintage style (with bedlah and beaded dresses). Focus is on musicality, theatricality, and old cinema charm. Costumes should blend glamorous modesty with flowing skirts, chiffon veils, and era-inspired accessories.
  • Live Tabla Improvisation ✨️ New Category
    There are two rounds! In the semi-final the participants are performing simultaneously and in the final round each participant is performing solo on stage with Chronis!
  • Necessary condition for a dancer to participate to the competition, is to attend at least one single workshop
  • Contestants have the right to compete in a higher level category but not in different levels at the same time.
  • Groups must have at least 3 persons.
  • In "Master BellyDazzler" Category participants must choreograph themselves. Styles allowed: Mezance, Classical Oriental, Lyrical.
  • In the other Professional Categories, the participants must be teachers or dancers who perform as a job, not just advanced level students.
  • A contestant who is taking part in Professional Categories has the right to additionally choose to compete in the “Master BellyDazzler” Category as long as they choreograph themselves in this specific case.
  • Styles allowed in Raqs Sharki Professional Category: Mezance or Classical Oriental (Veil and Isis Wings are allowed).
  • Styles allowed in Folklore Professional Category: Saidi/Ghawazee, Mowashah, Melaya, Nubian, Fellahi, Iraqi, Dabke, Haggalah (with the appropriate costumes for each).
  • Styles allowed in Fusion Professional Category: Lyrical, Fantasy, Flamenco Oriental, Tango Oriental, Latin Oriental, Contemporary Oriental (all props are accepted).
  • In Baladi/Shaaby Professional Category participants must wear the appropriate dress or galabeya for performing. The use of jeans trousers as a Shaaby costume is NOT permitted.

Judging Criteria for Solo (Excellent = 50)

  • TECHNIQUE: 10 (appropriate style, technique quality, lines, dynamics)
  • PERFORMANCE: 10 (emotion, expression, costume, hair & makeup, entrance & exit)
  • MUSICALITY & RHYTHM: 10 (appropriate music, rhythmic response, music values, variety)
  • SYNCHRONIZATION & SKILLS: 10 (scale of difficulty, use of space)
  • CHOREOGRAPHY: 10 (differentiation, innovation, formations, movements, variety, storyline/theme/idea/concept)

Judging Criteria for Duets/Groups (Excellent = 50)

  • TECHNIQUE: 10 (appropriate style, technique quality, lines, dynamics)
  • PERFORMANCE: 10 (emotion, expression, costume, hair & makeup, entrance & exit)
  • MUSICALITY & RHYTHM: 10 (appropriate music, rhythmic response, music values, variety)
